The chickens are coming on Sunday - have I got everything?

First time chicken-keeper here, the Eglu is arriving on Friday and we're going to pick up three chickens on Sunday. The farmer is selling us the right food for them, along with lice powder, etc. I've got dust-free bedding for them. I've read about poultry spice and thought that sounded good - or is that just for moulting time? Anything else we need right from the off?

have you got one of those nifty poultry water dish thingies?

And a hanging food dish for corn and stuff comes in very handy.

You may want some grit as well.

It's very exciting getting new chooks, isn't it!

Do you mean the hanging water thing (sure it must have a better name than that)? The eglu has a water holder called a glug. Am very excited! My three year old has been desperate for a white chicken so we're getting two ISA browns and an Amber Star. Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait.

I have one of these for corn and one of these for water

Don't have an eglu though so whatever comes as standard with them I wouldn't know about.

the hangy feeder thingy is fab because they scrabble about a lot on the floor and if the food bowl is on the floor it gets covered in crap (literally sometimes)
