My IG X Sasso experiment is under way and it's looking good.

I have 16 eggs in my incy. Due to hatch on the 18th/19th. I have candeled them and all seem to be fertile.

I am trying a Sasso hen crossed with an Indian/Cornish game rooster. Hoping for some tasty table birds for the Spring.

If their breasts are as big as their thighs you won't have to worry about them being flighty.

Have you eaten all this years sassos? I still have 10 of my Sx/Vorwerk crosses to get in the freezer but I've been ill for over a week and not up to the job. (Tis norks btw).

ello norks.

We still have six Sassos left. Three more are meant to go but we have been crap. Think we will keep them now as our breeders.

Nev has done a good job. All eggs were fertil one didn't develop but the rest are looking good. Hatch on Weds.

Also a few Isa BX LS in there as well.

Sorry to hear you've been ill. What have you had?

How's your brood and littlest one doing?

Ooh, 2 of my favourite mners on a chicken thread.

LL - will email you

mehga - I had a cold over a week ago and now have chest infection and the sorest throat ever, and as you'll know, 4 DCs and no voice is a recipe for disaster.

Littlest is growing fast, 6 months old, 5 teeth already , weaned last week and now he's refusing milk and calling for steak and pheasant pie. How are your lovely boys?

Good work on the chicken front . Voldemort is still our top boy despite all the new cockerels swaggering about (who are all very loud and annoying and always trying to get each others birds, as it were). Sooner I dispatch them, the better.

I now have to go out and move about 500 metres of electric fencing.
