Would any of you lovely people be willing to send me some feathers?

it's for a children's craft workshop. It doesn't matter what size or colour, etc, as long as they are reasonably clean...

I would pay p+p and something for your time [hopeful]

How many would you need Franny? We're going to be killing some of ours soon.
What size? The big ones or the softer fluffier ones?

I've just found some I'd saved for crafty things that you can have.
Email me at oggsfrog at yahoo dot co dot uk and I'll send them on (no need to pay postage they're not exactly heavy ).

FrannyandZooey · 29/10/2008 19:57

oh that's wonderful
i was hoping for at least 100 but could use more, however any amount would be appreciated
size does not matter - a mixture would be ideal
i will email you oggs and nolongeraworriedmummy i'll try to CAT you if you accept them?

FrannyandZooey · 29/10/2008 21:13

Franny, when is this event? I can collect some too - got one chicken molting at the minute.

[email protected]

MarmadukeScarletbloodstains · 30/10/2008 10:55

So Franny, just being nosy (am a chicken keeper, but they aren't moulting and I'm not planning on eating any) is there a link to your activities anywhere?

Is this what you 'do'? Do you run some kind of toddler/children's group/parties or are you HE-ing?

As I said just being nosy

ninedragons · 30/10/2008 11:00

I have just this second chucked a purple feather boa in the wastepaper basket because DD was eyeing it up hungrily.

CAT me if you want me to fish it out (perfectly clean, it's the only thing in there) and post it to you. The feathers don't exactly look natural, though.

FrannyandZooey · 30/10/2008 14:56

oh thank you all
I partic want the feathers to be naturally coloured [ponce] so will decline your purple boa ninedragons, but is very kind of you
(am tempted to ask to have it just for fun but NO, am 37 years old)

Doodle yes please - is in a fortnight

Marmaduke I do all of those things but this is for a home ed event
no link, sorry

You wouldn't want your charges thinking you'd killed and skinned a Muppet, which is exactly the conclusion they'd draw if you turned up with lavender feathers.

MerlinsBeard · 30/10/2008 15:33

i completely read this as "can someone send me some FATHERS"

i have bright pink ones(for some reason) but can see they are no good.

Have you posted on the craft section?(or did you want real ones really?)

oggsfrog · 05/11/2008 08:52

Franny, I'm sorry, but for reasons too boring to go into we won't be killing any chickens this week so won't be able to get as many feathers as I was hoping - I wanted to let you know so's you'd have the chance to get some from other people.

The feathers I have got (a mixture of ones I'd saved and ones I've scratted around for) have gone in the post to you today so you should get them in the next few days.

I did spot a road kill pheasant the other day, but when I went back for it it had gone - so no fancy coloured feathers unfortunately .

FrannyandZooey · 06/11/2008 18:53

oggs you are fab - thank you so much, I received the feathers today. they will be used and enjoyed

as far as i am concerned it is great news you didn't kill the chickens

if anyone else has any they could whizz off to me that would be marvellous
i need them for next tues, can pay postage etc

Hope you have fun with your workshop - I'm just sorry I wasn't able to send more.

As I was collecting them I was imagining what sort of fantastical beastie they would adorn

Doodle2U · 10/11/2008 14:14

Franny, just emailed and now posting a handful of flight feathers.

You gotta post a pic of this creation when it's done!

MarmadukeScarlet · 22/12/2008 11:32

Fanny, I know it is too late for planned event, but I now have an envelope full of lovely dark brown and white barred feathers from my cuckoo marran.

If you would like them to keep in your craft cupboard please CAT me and I'll post them.

At the rate she is moulting you could have a whole chooksworth by Xmas eve!

MarmadukeScarlet · 22/12/2008 13:21

Sorry, I obviously meant Franny
