3 Week old silkies

2 buff, 2 partridge and a blue.. not quite what I expected from hatching colors!!

I say i have partridge. . this is what i'm calling partridge!

how cute are they, is it going OK, I am now thinking of hatchinmg next year (when dd1 has started school and dd2 has started preschool and I am alone and broody).

Its fine The scariest bit was day one/two with teaching them to eat and drink. I kept checking on them to make sure I'd seen them eat and drink and that none had drowned, but they were fine

i am losing hope that our silkie eggs under the omlet broody will hatch at all.
of the 12 we put under her (theyre pretty small) only 4 remain. and yesterdays discarded one was not even partly developed

so i guess ill have to crack out the r-com after all.

better get the housing all sorted first i guess
