This little chicky has hatched and is now an honorary silkie as its hatchmates are all silkie bantams.

I used this to hatch it (including an added automatic turner and a hygrometer/thermometer (the included thermometer is a bit pants)) and to be honest, it was totally idiot proof. The humidity keeps well throughout day 1-18(I was topping up once a day, and it drops slowly so its easy to keep it relatively stable), and even holds well for rescuing chicks at hatch time (drops 1-3% when you open and grab!). The main downside to it is its hard to see when the chicks hatch (mine got pretty condensated and it has a blueish tinge to the top) but I got 5/6 silkie chicks from it (and only 1/18 non silkies, but they came less then brilliantly packaged) from ebay eggs so I think the results kinda speak for themselves.
