I have ordered my chook chooks.

I am picking them up next sat.
we are having
White star
Black rock
light sussex
and a brown henny type hen.

We also have on lay away (like what i did there). a bluebelle and a black silkie, alhtough we may just get 2 more of the above breeds next week, see how the day goes.

I can't wait, I was cuddling them and they were so lovely, they were kept kind of in a back garden and thtey were all bread there and they were loved. they were so tame and fussy.

I have a Vorwerk cockerel like the one on their website. He's very handsome! I realise I don't have any blue hens, I may have to get some Lavendar Araucanas.

How much were the hens by the way? - I'm interested in the huge variations we pay on MN!

I don't think we are haiving the bluebelle and silkie now as they are too young, we will doubkle up on a couple of the other breeds. Can't decide which though as I love them all.
They are between 12.50 and £15 depending on the breed, I presume the araucana's and others are a lot more, we held all the baby araucana's they were so lovely.
They are slightly more expensive than the other place we had looked but they are krept in the way that we want to keep our hens and they are already tame and very well handled, all breed there. The ones at the poultry farm we looked at were all in a big dark shed and seemed a little nervous of the dc, these ones were daft and soft.
I haven't got the feed and things yet, run coming thursday or friday, getting food from the breeder to start us off, need to get some metal dustbins this week.
(Can you tell I am a tiny bit excited, I can't believe it is only 5 sleeps now).
