I've been waiting since February but today my chickens finally arrived!!! I've sprinkled Hemcore in the run but need to know:

  • How deep should it be? *Do I need to wet it? On the pack it said something about pouring water on it but that's for horses, is the same in a chicken run?

Ta.

i dont wet it, my chooks like it dry to dustbath in it. it does end up getting wet in the rain but it quickly dries out in the sun. its a few inches deep but depth doesnt matter as they will scrape it around and some areas will be deeper than others. you can always put more in. i use the whole bag in my run.

Don't wet it! Put it in fairly deep so they can scratch it around. They will shift it as they scratch.

Thanks. I'm guessing your run must be significantly bigger than mine mel, a whole bag would bury my chooks up to their beaks
