Well I haven't got him yet. A fellow chicken lover up the road is giving me a free 8 week old Indian Game Bird rooster. I shall cross him with some Sasso hens to make some more lovely meat birds.

Game birds are quiet cockerels aren't they? Despite looking like bulldogs! Pictures in due course please. (Says she who still hasn't downloaded her baby photos after almost a week).

I hope so although he will live next door with the Sassos so I won't hear him.

They are odd looking creatures. Great big legs. I am hoping that the Sassos with good breast meat crossed with the IG for good leg meat will make a super meat bird. It could of course all go horrib;y wrong.

I now have a broody Isa brown (one of my rescue hens ) to deal with. Have constructed her an unbrooding enclosure using two fire guards - she is very cross!
