Chick not growing and screaming

Hello! I have a baby chick that I got from my uncle that is not growing like their siblings and will non stop scream until someone picks him up. He was trampled by the other 4 chicks the first night we got him and refused to walk on his leg for a day and now is walking better on it. He eats a little and also drinks, and his poop is normal but I'm scared that he's going to die. We have had him sperated from the other chicks for the past 5 days and he seems to be doing a bit better but he still has this non stop scream continuously until someone picks him up and puts him to sleep. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what this could be or if there is anything I could be doing to help it more. Any input is welcome, thank you !

I know nothing about chicken husbandry but you do tend to see chicks huddled together for safety / warmth. Maybe he doesn't like being on his own, even if is is for his own safety.
