How early and late could my chicken start to lay?

They are about 18 weeks now. I am thinking they could lay in a couple of weeks but how long might we wait? We are very excited!

Some lay from as early as 16/17 weeks. As your think, most will lay at about 20. Ours are invariably late starters and are often around 24/25 weeks. Patience required!

And I've had 5 year old hens that were still laying 5 or 6 eggs a week.

Ooooo hope ours are not late ones!
