I’ve had a Sussex, Leghorn, Silkie, Bluebell and a Polish for a week and a half now. All 18 weeks old by this Wednesday. The other four are dream hens- after three days they were putting themselves into the coop before dusk. The coop is inside a bigger enclosure but they have been free ranging for the last few days and again, the other four putting themselves to bed perfectly.
The Polish ends up huddled in a corner of the enclosure or on top of the coop’s nesting boxes (which are sloped and cannot be comfy!). I pick her up and then guide her to the coop door every night before the automatic Chicken Guard door shuts.
She’s had a good haircut so I think can see fairly well and she doesn’t seem to be getting bullied or pecked.
Will she ever learn?! Can I do anything differently? 😩
