Hi, i've already got a Buff Orpington that has the normal supermarket egg colour and a Marran that produces lovely chocolate coloured eggs.
Just wondering what breeds produce those lovely powder blue or green eggs.

Araucana's have blue eggs. Can't remember who does green, Sumatras maybe?

Waitrose sell beautiful eggs from Cotswold Legbars which can be beautifully blue but sometimes creamy coloured. I might stick a couple under a broody hen this year and see what happens!

My neighbour has Cotswold Legbars and they are a bit disappointing. Not as blue as the Waitrose ones.

umm dos it depend on wot u feed them on?

my cream legbars lay big blue eggs. they do take ages to come into lay but one they start they lay well. one lays every day and the other lays two out of three days, if not every day. they are nice calm birds as well.

nope fiodyl, shell colour depends completely on the breed, whereas yolk colour is influenced by what they eat.

my cream legbars laid very nice blue-green eggs, 1 a day each.
