I have a Leghorn who is coming up to 3. I’m not keeping her for the eggs obviously at this point :) A few months ago she had symptoms of salpingitis so I treated accordingly with bird antibiotics. She laid only a couple of eggs after that.
In the following months there have been about 3 lash eggs in her spot. This week she laid an egg and then another lash egg today. She looks otherwise very well and is boss hen.
Some websites suggest lash eggs are always a symptom of problematic infection and others suggest an occasional lash egg is ok if the hen is otherwise well. There is only one bird vet near me and they don’t take chickens seriously.
Any thoughts about whether I should treat again, or leave her since she looks well otherwise? Thanks :)
