I'm a bit of a recluse and don't catch the news so wondered if anyone knows when we can let our hens out again please?

Thanks @Howdoin but I'm still confused? What does it mean? All birds still to be kept in after success at Redcar? Can you elaborate please?

Yes, all birds still to be kept in. The prevention zone is still in place across the whole of England.

Mine were looking longingly at the grass today. I got them in lockdown last March, three black bantam. I had one hen left from four rescue hens and whilst walking around our village had a chance conversation with a guy who had two many hens and two cockerels. He gave them to me. I collected one to pair up with my brown hen then a few weeks later collected the other two. A while later my old hen died. She must have been quite old for a rescue. I made the guy some cakes so a good barter.
I bought some clear tarpaulin from eBay which has tiny squares it does rip a bit in the wind but the rips are small as it caught on the wire fence. I think I will figure out another plan for next year.

Thanks @onyourway that's brilliant news. I would probably still be wondering well past that date.
Happy to have a light at the end of the tunnel
