Chickens in lockdown

How are everyone’s chickens coping under lockdown?

Every-time I go in the run, mine try to chest barge their way out. We have upgraded their run though, so they are a little happier when they wouldn’t normally be free ranging (in the morning), but cross with me in an afternoon - when they would be free ranging. Anyone want to share what you are doing to keep your girls happy? We are going to build perches and swings with old tree branches...any other ideas?

Photo of their much bigger run.

Yesterday was confusing for my girls - they heard the rain and scurried under the coop. It took them about 30 minutes to realise they wouldn’t get wet (due to the covers) if they ventured out... not sure how we will address this when we are free to let them out again ( hopefully, instinct will kick in, but they are a bit daft).

Do they have wood chip to scratch around in?
Are you able to give them a big pot of dry soil for a dust bath?

That looks good where did you buy it from please?

Fictional: I put a basin of dry compost and soil in one very wet day. They tipped it over! Ungrateful.😂

It was from Garden Life Direct, they also sell through Mano Mano. It’s good, but it was a bugger to put together. 4mx 4m half inch mesh.
