How do you gain knowledge about chickens before getting them? Are there courses or events that you'd recommend?

Books, blogs, forums - there are heaps of resources. Just start reading.

@StylishWombat it is overwhelming isn't it? We were due to go on a course this year but it was understandably cancelled. Saying that on reflection I suspect as it as only a morning I'm not sure how much we would have learnt. We've learnt an awful lot by reading books, forums and guides (Omlet has a great guide to start with the basics) so I'm not too disappointed. We are hoping to getting our first chickens next weekend but have been seriously considering for 12 months so a lot of prep! Still feel anxious mind Grin
