I have had an allotment for a few years now and a few of my fellow allotmenteers (?) keep chicken and I was thinking of doing the same.
They all have fairly large home-made coops for their hens as opposed to having purchased something purpose-built.
I am toying with the idea of buying a large rabbit hutch and converting it into something suitable for 3 rescue hens.
Has anyone done this successfully ?
Aside from that we shall be building a secure enclosure for the hens, that the coop shall live inside.
