Jack Russell puppy with a 2 year old wise choice?

I have dogs and a two year old. I had my brother in-laws jack Russell dashhound mix puppy for a few days a last week.... never again. Personally I'd rescue a year old dog. You know what you are getting temperament wise and still young enough to deal with a hyper toddler. My dogs (two chihuahuas) avoid my toddler at all cost.
