I have 4 ex battery girls, and they are amazing. Such lovely characters. They adore eating sweetcorn, meal worms, cut up grapes and broccoli that's tied to the side of the coop (along with chicken pellets that they always have access to).
What are your girls favourite foods?

Ours loved layers pellets, mealworms, raw eggs, cooked pasta (spaghetti!), bird seed. I think mine would have eaten a steak! They loved picking for insects and grubs too, ate my honeysuckle, nettles, perennials. They're not fussy! 😊🐓

They have had raw egg by accident, and were totally giddy! but I was told it encouraged them to eat their own eggs.

It can do if it's a daily thing. We'd give them any that were soft shelled and easily cracked about once a week/10 days. Our chickens never really ate their own unless we'd cracked them open but I think that's because we didn't do it too often. They happily eat grass and hay/straw too.

Other than the usual natural forage and layers pellets/corn, my flock love leftover melon, red peppers, strawberries and cucumbers.

Yogurt!

They love it, plain from Aldi, and its good for thier gut, just step back as it flys all over!

But they are not keen on green food of any kind, very odd

Interesting, how do you feed them yogurt? Straight from the pot?

Maggots!

And cabbage.

Baked beans. And pear muffins. And omelette. And fish fingers. Basically kid leftovers!

Scream, no I put it in 3 bowels so they all have some chance of getting some! They end up with it all over heads covered then they pick it off each other they really do enjoy it.

I also mix it with tinned corn, or pop some grapes or frozen watermelon when its very hot.

Mine discovered poultry spice today! My word! They went insane for it!
