We rescued five hens on the 9th Sept and I am amazed at how far they have come since they came home. At first, they were timid little things who didn't really know how to be chickens but now their instincts have kicked in and so have their feathers! The little chicken in the cage with an 'oven ready' look is the chicken on the far left of the second photo.

awww bless them, they've got a good life now, with you. I would love to have chickens but our deeds say that we aren't allowed to have livestock

I had rescue chickens. I still have one but the other three died over a period of months. They laid wonderful eggs.

We had a dozen at our previous address. Very very good for the soul ime.
Still miss them terribly.
Amazing the impact a little feathered being can have on a person!!
