Introducing new chicks to the old ladies

I have 2 red hens, 2 yrs old. I want to get some more and have found silkies and leghorns nearby but they are only 3 months old so still smallish and chick like I expect? How should I introduce them all? I basically leave the old girls totally free range 24/7 and only lock them in when I want to be definitely able to find an egg the next morning. But I’ll need to lock in the new ones for a while to ensure they don’t run off and imprint on their shed so can I lock them all in together? I’d feel bad to keep the girls in for a week or so but if it is necessary I can do it.

How big is your lock in area OP?

It’s a double stable size.
