How long did it take your 'point of lay' hens to actually lay an egg

Hi fellow chicken-keepers!
We got our (hybrid) hens last week. So far so good. The girls seem to have settled in well to their new home. They're in a 10x16ft walk-in run, so have lots of space and spend the day happily scratching and strutting about.
But, so far no eggs :(
I keep on forgetting during the day to call the farm we got them from to ask when I can expect them to start laying. Any ideas? How soon did your hens take to produce their first egg?

I think ours have taken as long as 3-4 weeks, it seems to vary a little by the mix of breeds in the hybrid. Once one starts laying the others will get the idea.

Ours were hatched in June (or maybe July) and laid their first eggs in December so 5-6 months old.

DD may expire from impatience by then!

About a month. Hang in there, once our ladies started they didn’t stop! We eat a lot of omelettes Grin
