Where do you store your chicken feed?

Haven't got the chickens yet but the feed has arrived and just wondering how best to store it. Do you keep it outside near the coop so it's easily accessible? If so, what kind of container do you store it in to keep it dry/keep rodents away?

Or is it better to store it in the house and take what you need outside each day?

Just wondered what others would recommend?

We use something like this,

We buy large sacks and just use a scoop and keep it near the back door

In a traditional (though new/clean) dustbin with a heavyish lid, inside the garage. Take a scoop outside each day. It depends what room you have at your home I guess.

Ours is kept in the pantry next to the dog food, but we only have bantams so don't have large amounts. If storing it outside you'd want to have it in metal dustbins to keep the mice and rats out.

We have a galvanised metal dustbin and it's kept in the shed.

galvanised steel bin next to the run :)

We've got a barrel like this. Don't know if it's the same size as this but it easily holds a sack of pellets with room to spare, and it was given to me so it hasn't got the metal clamp, but it works really well. It's waterproof and there's no sign of anything having tried to get into it. It was in the shed but there wasn't enough space so I've moved it into the corner of the walk-in run where it is under cover and only takes seconds to chuck a scoopful of feed into the galvanised hopper. The girls just think it is an extra perch!
