Flight feather clipping dilemma

So we're on holiday next week, 5/6 hens will be fine behind the poultry netting but we have one hen that's keen on flying out and can't find her way back in. Our next door neighbours will check on them and top up their food/water but i'm wondering if we should clip her wings, i know it's fine and won't hurt her but it's not something we've ever done, tbh i like seeing them free range but have to be pragmatic.

You only clip one wing so that the flight feathers are uneven, but you do need to make sure it is done correctly.

yup - but it means for a year she won't be able to fly - and she enjoys having a wonder around the garden.

How easy is she to get back in the run when she's out?

One of mine flies out but when I open the gate trots back in. I have another who's a bugger and takes two of us and the dog to round back up.

If your chicken is like the latter its not fair on the neighbour. If its the former leave her be.
