Foxy Loxy :-(

Sat happily doing some work on Monday afternoon. Dc4 wanders in "Mum, there's a wolf in the garden". After a brief pause for my brain to kick in, I run out and chase the fox away.

Sadly not until it had taken 2 of my chicks (we raised them from day old last summer).

Fortunately I got there before I lost the last 'chick' and Amy the mother hen. They are safely in their run but won't be allowed free in the garden unless we're all out there and staying out there.

Sad

It's horrid, isn't it? Happens so quick.

:( so sorry, mmine are currently on lock down as they were making a racjket the other night and dh went out to see a fox sat there bold as brass. I am petrified now he knows they are here.

Thanks for replying. It is horrid but we had become very lax. I was suprised at the one in our garden but I guess it's that time of year when there are hungry cubs to feed. I think it will be a while until ours are allowed out again Dita

Sad so sorry. Ours are now in a walk in run after a neighbour lost all of hers last year. I hate the fact that they're no longer completely free ranging but at least they're pretty safe now.

sorry its horrible. he who cannot be named came to us a few weeks ago and took my favourite hen plus 7 others. we found 6 chicks and a mum the following day which cheered me up a bit but it is a constant battle.
