Can you identify this breed for me?

I bought some hatching eggs from 'brown egg layers'. Now they are outgrowing their space and I want to sell some, but a few are defying identification. Do you know what they are? (Not the white monster at the back.)

They look very much like Welsummers to me possibly with some Rhode Island Reds in them although the lovely speckled feathers are usually more accociated with the welsummers. Wait and see what the eggs turn out like when they start laying. If its a welsummer it will be dark brown and you can actually rub the brown pigment off with your hand.

Welsummers?

Definitely not Welsummers, they look like the first pic, I would think they are part Orpington, possibly part Gold laced as they are puffy and rounded in appearance-see pic 2

The thing with cross breeds is you can't identify them! If they are from brown hybrid layers, they are just that - a hybrid of various breeds. Just sell them as cross bred layers.

Or does "brown egg layers" mean the eggs were brown as opposed to the hens being brown? Either way, they're not purebred, so sell as crossbred. If you don't know parentage you don't know.
