Does anyone else have chickens that are too stupid to stay under shelter when it is absolutely peeing down?

Mine have a 8x8m part of the run under cover but they are all choosing to scratch around in the soggy end. They are so wet they look like they've been dunked in a bucket of water!

Blooming silly birds!

Mine do this too, i used to be worried about them, particularly our pekin who looks AWFUL with her raggedy sopping flares. A few times I've picked them up in the rain recently though, and have been surprised about how warm they are, and how much waterproofing their feathers seem to have - below the top layer they are as dry as a bone! So I decided to stop worrying and just let them get on with it. I'm sorry that isn't massively helpful, but I think unless they get ill, might be best to just let the muppets get on with it?!
