A magpie swooped and took one of our silkie bantam chicks (5 weeks) from its brooding box yesterday. 
I was a couple of metres away and we live in the city centre with a walled urban garden. Will these chicks still be vulnerable to magpies when they are fully grown (bantam size). I had planned to have them free ranging in the day while I am in the house but am now questioning this .
