Do Silkies mix well with other breeds?

And which breeds of regular size hens would you say they could be housed safely with, out of interest?

We have been offered a couple of Silkies you see, but our current hens are Legbar and Blackrock breeds (four in total). I'm not sure whether it would be a good idea to add them to our group?

I'd have thought they'd be fine with legbars and blackrocks once properly integrated. We've got legbars and light sussex girls in with a couple of Peking bantams and bizarrely a tiny sebright hen and they all get along fine. In fact the sebright acts as if she is the boss which is quite amusing as she is about a fifth of the size of the light Sussex!

I've had a mix of silkies, pekin banties, Sussex lights and marans all in together with no problems really...
One of them has to be bottom of the pecking order, but it isn't usually the silkie.. Hth's
