Rehoming our girls

We're going to move house this year - we've had an offer accepted - and it has a garden but it's down some very slippery outdoor stairs, (first floor) and currently we have a huge walk in run for our chickies attached to a falling down shed so they are really safe and spoilt for space.

I know I shan't have time to build them another one as I have a baby now and no 'spare' time at all really. (he's asleep on my lap currently hence the MNing!)

I'm worried that they will be upset at being in an under-ark run, and unsafe if I let them free range, so wondered if anyone is fairly near and would like them?

There are three and they are about 3 years old I think - all fancy sort of breeds, from a local farm. There is a copper black maran, a light sussex and a tiny little brown leghorn I think (or was it legbar?)

They still lay on and off and have never had mites, as far as I know they are healthy, we used to have 6 but gradually they have dropped off this mortal coil.

If anyone wants to give them a home we are in East Kent. It would be one (or three!) less things to worry about for us.

Alternatively does anyone know of a good rehoming site I could try? I don't mind taking them with us and would buy a large ark like the Boughton ones (actually probably one of those) but feel a bit sad for them after their cushy great run here Smile

if no joy here, you could put a notice up on the noticeboard at your local vets and at local feedmerchants.

If I was closer, I'd have them!

Downthelane has a rehoming section on their forum. As does Omlet, I think.

Oh thankyou very much, both...I didn't know down the lane had a bit for rehoming. Or omlet though I am disenchanted with them as they keep giving my details to weirdy companies.

I forgot to mention I can travel probably up to about 20-30 miles so if someone's in London or something, I could meet half way.
