Chicken Coup Recommendations

Hi,

We have just bought a plot of land, three acres, and are going to build our own house over the next 2-3 years, living on site in a caravan in the mean time.

We would love to keep chickens, and will have plenty of room. My plan is to have 3 hens and buy a chicken coup and build a large enclosed run for them. So was thinking of going for just a house, not a combined house and run. Have had a look around and found this one Coup and was wondering if anyone had any experience of it or any observations from an experienced keepers point of view? I like it as it seems to be easy to access for cleaning and be big enough for three birds, also there is no felt in the roof which I understand can be a problem if you get red mite. I realise that a timber house is more work than a plastic one but I can't realistically afford an Eglu or the like. I will make sure the house is treated/creosoted properly before I build it and treat it with a good dose of mite powder.

So anything I should be wary of, or recommendations on something better? Max budget would be £150 as will be building big run on top of that which will need money too (not to mention building our own house!).

It looks fine, difficult to say from pics... ideally any softwood house should be pressure treated, it will ensure it lasts longer. Obv you should paint it with wood-preservative regularly in addition to that. TBH it seems a bit soon to be looking?
