Anyone fitted bumper bits?

I've got a feather pecker who has left my Bluebell with a bald neck
I bought bumper bits online and tried to fit it but she just clawed at it and got it off in seconds. I thought I had followed the instructions. Don't know where I've gone wrong.

Have you checked out the Omlet website? There are instructions here. Having said that I ended up having to get the vet to fit mine.

Yes looked at that thanks. I am starting to wonder if I somehow pulled it too wide and then it hasn't closed tight enough on the nose.

As I understand it the problem usually arises from putting it in the wrong holes.
However, I just couldn't bring myself to keep on fiddling as the hen kicked up such a fuss I thought I was going to kill her.

My vet always wraps the hen in a towel to restrict her movements whenever giving her tablets etc. you could try that before putting the bumper thing on.
