We have recently bought three ducks and they are lovely but I am worrying what we will do when we go away re: locking them away at night? Will they just go into the coop when it is dark or will someone have to chase them in? Is it too much to ask a neighbour to do?

ooops! someone to lock her ducks away, they stay out if she forgets and there's always the worry that a fox will take them.

are you friendly enough with your neighbour to ask them? I wouldn't risk leaving them to their own devices.

My neighbours do my ducks when we're away. They quite enjoy it and get to eat any eggs they lay. We're very lucky as we're in a row of 4 cottages and have 2 neighbours that are happy to look after the ducks.
