xxl egg

I have four chickens been laying for about 2 weeks. Got a surprise when collecting eggs has one very large egg compared to an normal egg. Got the scales out 85g.

Is this normal as this is my second lot of chickens (fox got last years 4) and never has this big.

I've got one girl whose eggs have topped 100g. She's not that big either. On one hand its good big eggs on the other they don't fit in egg boxes or in the kitchen egg stand. It also means I have to weigh out egg for recipes to work out correct proportions.

One of my legbars lays normal sized for three out of four then a very small one around 45 to 50g.

Might it be double-yoked? When my chooks started to lay they gave me some large eggs which all had double yolks.
