Found my chicken dead this morning

Poor little thing was only 14 weeks old, I don't know how she she died, but wondering if it was the cold or our puppy scared it to death

Now I'm left with just one bantam in that coop and four big hybrids in the other, I don't know what to do with the other silkie bantam? I can't leave it on its own, but the big girls, I fear, would kill her.

She's currently all alone, I'm terrified I might find her the same way in the morning

if you can bear it is worth trying to work out what killed her. too cold, egg bound, rats, gape etc. you need to know this in case it was more than just bad luck and it spreads. agree that the silkie cant really be left on her own so you either need to risk another or see if you can give her away. not an easy choice but good luck

Did you say she's a Silkie?
If so, unless she was vaccinated against it, it was probably Marek's. Silkies are notoriously prone to it. I lost lots to it over the years.
