Will a Speckledy lay the same colour eggs as a Miss Pepperpot?

Getting a new (small) flock of hens from scratch. I am determined to have hens that lay different-coloured eggs this time (I used to have 2 Gingernut Rangers and a Sussex and was never quite sure who had laid which egg). So I'm planning on getting a Cream Legbar (blue), a White Star (white), a Speckledy (dark brown) and a Miss Pepperpot (brown). But I see the Pepperpot has Maran blood in her. Are her eggs, in fact, dark brown? .

I have speckledies and both mine lay brown, but not dark brown, eggs. I'm getting some marans for that. My white star is brilliant. Not sure about a Miss Pepperpot - I don't know anything about them.

Thanks SundaeGirl. Glad your White Star is good. I have heard that they are skittish.... but I don't need ALL my birds to be friendly, and my garden is quite well chicken-proofed.

The breeder clipped my white star's wings, but actually she's fine and quite at ease. None of my hens are very friendly, I have a turkey for that!
