Chickens are girls of course, so you would probably do better with Lady and Duchess Blush.

ornellaia · 05/08/2012 19:43

SIL's chickens are named after ladies from Coronation St - there are lots of them, I don't know all the names but I thought that was quite a good idea. The DC named their hens after Disney Princesses (Jasmine, Belle and Aurora), and I had a bantam pair called Sid & Nancy.

Any future chickens will just be known as 'fox food' until they are eventually taken by the bloody fox Angry

It had to be Olympic based... So... Mo, Jessica and Andy (my favourites do far). I know you're chickens are girls... I think you can get away with Mo and Andy even though they're make athletes.

We were trying to think of trio names too. Favourite suggestions we had (apart from Paxo related ones from dh) were Milly Molly Mandy and the Golden Girls (possibly only older MNers will know these!), so Blanche, Rose and Dorothy. I'd almost settled on the latter as I they seemed quite good chickeney names but dd hadn't a clue what I was talking about and named them after the Powerpuff girls instead. So now we have Bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup. Smile

Pick a theme, eg chocolate - Twix, Mars, Aero (or sweets - Fudge, Chocolate, Caramel)

Drinks - Whiskey, Brandy, Vodka

Natzer · 06/08/2012 19:05

Ha ha loving the chocolate/sweets theme!!

Some very good suggestions, thanks ladies x

I had Betty, Hettie and Maude.

Betty turned out to be a boy, and was renamed Barry :)

nickelbarapasaurus · 07/08/2012 14:19

what about a song?

I used Mambo number 5 for my first lot - it meant that there were loads of extra names as we added to them Wink

started with
jessica, erica ans monica
lost monica
got rita and sandra
lost sandra
got tina, mary and pamela.

or the beautiful south's song for whoever:
jennifer, alison, philippa, sue, deborah, annabel, too.
(and mary, a sad story, who turned her grief into glory...)

our current hens are virtues - faith, hope and mercy.

(apols for no caps - one-handed)

soaccidentprone · 10/08/2012 15:11

We've got Ginger, Bessie, Ethel and the b* fox got Rita (so make sure your chucks are kept secure)

Leilandri · 14/08/2012 11:57

We are getting a trio of chooks today Grin
I wanted Wenlock, Mandeville and Olympia - for the Olympics.
DH wanted Oxo, Paxo and Bisto
DS1 wanted Bogey, Donut and Patch

We're going to have a chicken called Bogey!! Hmm

nickelcognito · 14/08/2012 13:14

i love your DS's choices Grin

Leilandri · 14/08/2012 19:30

We ended up with 4 chooks Blush 3 light sussex with the aforementioned names of Bogey, Patch and Donut.
1 vorwerk with no name :( Just can't think of anything, and DS1 has said that he is bored of naming chickens now!!!
