Bantam gone broody

So, it appears we have a broody bantam. She doesn't want to leave the nestbox but I've been lifting her out to free range in the garden and to encourage get to eat.

We don't want to put fertilised eggs under her as I've hit knowhere for the unwanted boys to go. Should I be dissuading the broodiness by dunking her in cold water (seems mean) or wrapping ice blocks up in a towel for her to sit on?

Both methods are ones I've heard recommended, but I don't know if I should just let the broodiness run its course?
