This is to be my first hatch this year. I still get stupidly excited no matter how many I do. I have to stop myself from constantly picking up the hen and checking and fiddling with the eggs.

I've set some light sussex eggs. The breed is a utility breed so good for both meat and eggs - which is great as I hate wasting the boys.

Fingers crossed that in 21 days I'll be announcing the arrival of cute fluffies.

I wish I had chooks. You are very lucky, enjoy Smile

Get some! You don't need a huge garden. I wouldn't be without mine. I started small with only three but they are very addictive. I soon added to them. At times I've had around 40, currently only 24!

Good luck, and let us know how you get on with them (pics!)
