Creosoting coop

Hi, basically I am an idiot and didn't creosote the coop before I got the chickens. If I do it now how long is it before the chickens can go back in? I.e. If I get up at the crack of dawn on a sunny day, splash on the creosote, can they go back in at dusk?

It won't kill them tbh, but I'd put them in a box overnight and put them back the next day.

Will the creosote stop red mite? I'm starting to consider this.

Stupid question, but do you creosote inside and out, so every possible surface? What about the run?

I find that it kills and deters the mites. I spray mine on using a pump sprayer which makes it a quick job. You have to spray everywhere especially into the joints. If the coop has redmite then they will emerge out of the joints and get creosoted. Do the run as well.
