What to paint an old coop with?

I have a old coop that I'd like to freshen up before my new chicks get her in April. I'd like to paint it in bright colours, but what are safe to use? Has anyone any ideas?

Most stains/paints are fine to use, but I never paint my wooden coops any more because they're better creosoted as it kills redmite.
