Am I ok just having the 2??

Yes they'll be fine. What happened though?

God it was awful Sad
Had my hens a couple of years now no problems...new neighbours moved in a couple of weeks ago with a 12 month old husky dog, she's lovely, I've also got 2 dogs so all dogs want to do is play etc through the hedge! (my dogs don't touch the chickens and they r all used to each other by the way)
I was pottering in the garden at the weekend and all of a sudden the husky shoved her head though the hedge and the wire fencing (there was a slight hole). Then proceded to jump through...she got all caught up...new neighbour came out very apologetic, she got scissors and I tried cutting her dog out, luckily dog v friendly.
She then came round to my back garden but by then her dog spotted my girls and all hell broke loose Sad
Husky got hold of top chicken Rihanna and once we got hold of her she then refused to drop her!!!! Chicken was dead by this point Sad
Anyway, my garden looked like they'd been a massacre and my neighbour was distraught....she did let go of Rihanna after about twenty mins!
When my 9 year old ds came back from his dads I had to tell him the news, Rihanna was his chicken Sad. What a day!!!

Two hens will be fine, in fact, you'd have difficulty introducing another one as it would probably be bullied. Sorry for your loss Sad

Poor Rihanna and DS, not nice Sad

They do need to keep warm, i was always told to keep more than 2, perhaps 4 so that the new one is not bullied too much.
