We went out this morning and bought our new chicken

We have an 18 week old Black Rock called Lady Gaga.

An 8 week old Wellsummer called Mama Odie.

and an 8 week old Buff Orpington called Princess Aurora.

I'm a bit concerned about putting the littlies in with Lady Gaga but the farmer put them in together for 30 mins whilst we were there and she seemed very calm. If there is a problem then Lady Gaga can be swapped.

Anyway, they are in the hen house havving some quiet time. So exciting!

Lovely new girls! They'll all be fine in together if they've been introduced together. They will quickly establish their own pecking order (which will literally mean pecking each other!) but that's completely normal.

We have an absolute mixture from Drendt bantams, light sussex up to 2 big boy buffs. All get along fine. there is the odd bit of scraping every now and then but that is what they do. My chicks are 7 weeks old so they will be out with the flock soon - can't wait as my buff eggs are on the go and will hatch in a couple of weeks.
