Anyone know anything about ducks?

So it looks like I'm going to be 'fostering' a couple of indian runner drakes. They were going to be killed so i said we will look after them until i find someone that wants them - and may keep them for good if we get on ok. But i know absolutely nothing about ducks. They will be coming with a small pond and we are planning to use our small shed as a temporary shelter for them until we know if we are keeping them then we can sort out something more permanent.

So what else do i need? Anything to be aware of? Any advice greatly appreciated.

Forgot to add - I'm posting here because this is where I thought I might find duck keepers, not because I'm a chicken keeper so my knowledge really is zero.

There is a section on ducks on the Omlet forum, also quite a few people there have quite a lot of experience with them - might be worth a look.
