Barbu D'Uccles bantams - I've fallen in love with this breed, where can I buy some?

They are gorgeous, and as a friend pointed out rather like owl-chickens.

Can anyone recommend a breeder please?

I'd go to the breed club and ask them first. They will probably be able to recommend a breeder who will sell you some that are close to the standard.

I found a member of the local Poultry Club who will sell me some - hurrah! Thanks for the suggestion AMB :)

Oh, good Smile

They are beautiful - are they harder to keep than the more run of the mill birds?

Would be interested to know how you get on. I've got a sussex light and gingernut ranger, which I love, but quite fancy something more exotic. I'm looking at a second coop anyway, but would they mix in the run or are they best kept apart?

I think they'd need to be separated - to start with at least. I think people do free range their bantams with their larger fowl, but it would take a while for them to adjust. I will keep you posted clangermum :).
