Contents of changing bag

I've found a gorgeous changing bag that could also be used as a big shoulder bag once I'm past that stage but I'm a bit worried that it's too small for a changing bag. What do you carry in yours? I plan to bf so hopefully won't need to cart bottles with me. It doesn't have chilled compartments but I'm not too fussed about that as I know you can buy them individually anyway. So please tell me what you carry in yours and how many of each item so I can work our space! Thanks xx

DD is now 18 months and mine has:

All my stuff (purse, make up, brush, tissues, keys etc)
Baby wipes
Hand sanitiser
Nappies
Nappy bag
Muslin
Disposable bibs
Breadsticks
One Ella's pouch
Usually some fruit
Sippy cup
Spare change of clothes
Sometimes a favourite toy

Used to carry reusable nappies when she was younger.

I have a pacapod which comes with two pods (feeding and changing pod) which helps as I can customise which one to take (or both) or if the bag is full just clip the pods to the pushchair.

What you put in it changes. I bf exclusively till 6 months - but then I had my water bottles to put in! I had the skip hop duo and TBH could have been bigger. Once I had two kids I increasingly used a rucksack anyway. Get a big bag that you like, machine washable.

Mine is very full. I seem to carry more than some of my friends but I use it all!
I have nappies, nappy bags, bum cream, wipes, alcohol hand gel, change mat and cotton wool.
2 outfit changes, plus vests. Depending on what we are doing or where going I can add or remove an outfit.

Spare cardi, hat (winter or summer depending on season).
Dummy, couple of small toys (rattle etc).
Red book.
Couple of muslins and spare bibs.
Now also need bottles for the day. When bf I had breast pads.

My purse, keys, phone, hairbrush, paracetamol, lip salve and pack of tissues for me.

Lo is 21 months and of we're just out couple of hours take small kiddy backpack with change of outfit (leggings, vest and top so nice and small) couple cloth nappies, wet bag for dirty nappies, bib, wipes, fruit pouch and biscuit/ oatbar (emergency snacks) and cup.

If we're out for longer take bigger changing bag so can also fit more nappies, cardigan/ jacket if needed, few small toys and piece of fruit.

If you're using disposable nappies you can take small bag as they don't take up much space.

Meant to say when I'm taking small backpack I normally have small handbag of mine with purse, phone keys etc.

If taking bigger changing bag I just put my stuff in there too.

My DD is only 8 months and I only take a small kids backpack. In that we have: 5 nappies, pack of wipes, nappy sacks, change of outfit, sun hat, mini sun cream, calpol sachets & spoon, teething gel, nappy cream, spare dummy, 2 bottles & 2 bottle of ready feed, sippy cup of water and then in the front pocket is my purse, phone and keys. Never need anything else and it fits in the pram basket nicely x

Oh and an Ella's kitchen pouch and spoon too ??

I had quite a small bag (Wallaboo) and it was fine. When she was little:

4 nappies
Pack of wipes
My purse
Nappy bags
Spare babygrow
Changing mat

As she got older I added a bib and Tupperware lunchbox with assorted snacks and a drink. I lost the spare clothes at that point.

I never took toys out with me (she had a few attached to her car seat / buggy) and she was hardly ever sick - in fact I can't remember her being sick while out and about ever.

She is 2.5 now and I've been using my old normal handbag for ages - I pop in one nappy, wipes, drink and a few snacks.

Oh and a small sunscreen in the summer.

I just switched to a rucksack. It's ace! The purpose built changing bag was too small, meant I needed a handbag too and I could never find anything.
I got the rucksack from Amazon and it has tons of pockets. There are 3 main compartments:
Compartment 1 has 6 nappies, a pack of wipes, nappy rash cream and nappy sacks
Compartment 2 has powder, pouches, bibs, spoons, dummies, calpol
Main compartment has a ziplock bag containing a babygro and bib, some toys, a fabric highchair thingy
There are also 2 bottle holders on the sides, and a pocket for his red book.
I also keep a couple of bags for life just in case, and a few ziplock bags for dirty clothes etc

Changing mat is in with nappies.
Muslins go in the main compartment
He's teething so I have tons of dribble bibs too

Hi, I carry: 1 nappy for every 2 hours I'm out +1, wipes, changing mat, nappy bags, bib, Muslin, spare outfit for baby, purse,keys, rattle, mini sun screen as its getting warmer; teething granules. Then a sippy cup& snack when they start weaning.

I have a newborn and in my changing bag is:

Changing mat
Water wipes
5 or 6 nappies
2 changes of clothes
Cardigan
Hat
Orange
Purse
Keys
Antibacterial hand gel
Nappy sacks
2 X bum cream
Lip balm
Hand cream
Pen
Red book
Bag for wet clothes

Breast feeding doesn't work for everyone, regardless of intentions, so you may have to take bottles.

I only had a change bag for a few months with child 2 and didn't like it. I used the buggy for everything - back pocket of buggy for keys, wallet, phone and charger. Snacks for me. Dummy.
Carrier bag under buggy for 3 washable nappies, nappy sacks, 2 outfits for baby, spare top for me, emergency disposable, baby wipes. Later, food pouch, spoon, pot of carrots, sippy cup, bread stocks.
So in mornings I could add baby with blanket and walk out the door. Change bags didn't really work with reusables and as I always had the buggy anyway, a few plastic bags gave much more flexibility.

I'm blown away by all of these organised people. Rarely am I out without dd2 without either pushchair or car and if I was I take a rucksack as we are walking or whatever. The pushchair/car part is where I keep spare clothes. On a day to day basis I have, in a medium sized handbag (dd2 is 6 months and dd1 is nearly 3)
2/3 nappies and wipes in a nappy bag
Bib
Muslin
Dry pants/leggings
Emergency snack for dd1

That's it! I figure I'm never far from a shop if I need anything else, and can't be bothered with carrying things just in case of emergency. Different if I'm out for the whole day mind
