DPF flush unsuccessful?

Hopefully someone can help 🙏.

About 6 months ago my car told me to 'keep driving' to clear the DPF. I did and all was fine.

A few months after, the EML came on. Diagnostic showed an EGR problem. Had it replaced. Light went off for a little while, then came back on a few days later. Then when driving home the exhaust started to smoke a little bit. I took it to Halfords for a DPF flush, as recommended by the mechanic I used previously (he wasnt available and Halfords could fit me in immediately).

When I picked up the car they said the flush was unsuccessful and it would need an off car clean or a new DPF altogether.

They sent me the paperwork (that doesn't mention it was unsuccessful or any advice in the 'needs fixing' section) and I drove home.

No EML or smoking.

Is it possible it wasn't completely successful but has cleared some ?

I need to drive to work this week, and cant get it fixed until next week.

It may go into limp mode if you try and keep driving it. I had to have 2 new dpf on discovery sport, they were really badly designed. One thing the dealer didn’t even know was there needed to be at least a quarter or a tank of diesel for it to clear through driving. Once they get past the point of no return though they do need removing and cleaning or replacing. What car is it?

It's a Vauxhall Mokka X.

I would be making sure there are no other faults present that could be causing the car not to regen. Last thing you want to do is have it cleaned only to have have it block again due to not carrying out regens. Other option to consider is having the DPF removed, not legal but very popular.
