Any tips how to get a driving test?

My son passed his theory test and we can’t get a test booked for anywhere! After a while of trying we get kicked off. I work full time, he is at college. Between us, no luck so far. Any tips on a good time of day to try?

We downloaded Test Shift. You select up to 3 test centres and the dates you’re available and it automatically books you a cancellation

@Beachwalks2 thank you. Sounds good! I’ve only heard of the apps where you have to already have a booking.

We switched ds to a driving school that did intensive lessons. They keep an eye on cancellations and he passed on the third try, 6 weeks after failing his first test last year.

We did the logging on before 6am on a Monday thing, and got through and booked a test first time. I was astonished as I’ve heard so many stories of this not working.

Yes, definitely log in at 6 on a Monday…
I’ve just done that as I’m trying to get a cancellation and bring DDs test in April forward as she’s ready now.
I was unsuccessful in finding an earlier date but there were tests available after the date of her existing booking.
That’s how I got her test date in the first place too.
Good luck!

DS has his test next month. I got it by logging in before 6 and booking as quickly as possible. I have paid an app to find cancellations but there has been absolutely nothing. The issue I have with automatically rebooking a cancelled test is that I have no idea if our instructor will be available or not. She may have other lessons booked, holidays, day off Etc.

I never got anywhere with that 6am thing

But husband struggled to get one - I just left the booking page open on work computer for a few hours and refreshed regularly and after a while a test came up an I just booked it !

he failed the first One and I managed to book another for him again a few weeks later
Doing the same

Yes log in at 6am on a Monday and accept any test. Then use the Test Shift app to move the test forward and to a time or day which suits you. Saved us months and months of expensive lessons and DS passed first time.
