My partner was in a car accident as a passenger and wants to claim on the vehicles car insurance for injuries and we don’t really know where to start on what injury lawyers to use and where to trust to get the claim done . I know there’s no win no fee places but I just know know how to choose somewhere there’s so many online . Has anyone ever made a claim for injuries and could give me abit of advice on what lawyers to use or any general advice would be great please.
Many Thanks in advance ☺️

Why do you not just contact the insurance company?

When the accident is declared the details of all passengers should be included, including if they are hurt. Talk to the driver to update the claim.

depending on the injury your partner will need a Drs report.

For whiplash they can claim through a government portal.

Can he not claim from the driver who was at fault in the accident?

How long ago was the accident?

The "proper" route is to go via the drivers insurer, who will manage the claim. However if it's been some time since the accident this will be difficult.

Yes, the driver's insurance company should be handling it all. Op, your partner should have the reference number and contact details. Has your partner written a statement and had the injuries documented in hospital/ A&E/ GP records? This is essential for any claim.

Via the driver of the car he was in is the proper way. Unless it’s a serious injury requiring time of work and pain for more than a few days then no solicitor is required but there will need to be proof of the injury in his medical records eg a&e, repeat gp visits etc. they have tightened up due to misuse of whiplash claims

We spoke to the insurance company and they said they’d handle it if a claim was made but I thought that had to be done through lawyers. We will re contact insurance to see what they say. There wasn’t another vehicle involved, it was the drivers fault he lost control, so the vehicle he was in is at fault . It happens a week ago, spent thr night in hospital, broken ribs, going back for a hand scan as it’s become very painful, and some other bits . so we’ve got evidence of all injuries. Had to have heavy painkillers and can’t work for a few weeks while injures heal as he does manual work . We will recontact the drivers insurance and see what they say.thank you all ☺️

You can make a claim through the official injury claim portal and you can do it yourselves.
