Need a new car so considering electric. What’s the best way to get a charger? Our energy supplier wants about £1000.

I was recommended Ohme to get the charger installed and it's been absolutely fine.

Some dealers may have a deal with a charger included.

I paid about 900 for mine.

I used a local electrician company to do mine , it was a little less than Octopus but main thing was they could do it reasonably quickly and they’re a short drive away if any issues

Yes we also bought our own charger and had local electrician install it.

We were looking to get a Hypervolt charger, and have a local electrician fit it, but we went looking at used EVs, and the deal offered on a new one, with dealer discount, EV grant and a charger installed for £149, made it a no drainer to go for a new car. It's an Ohme, which was fitted a few weeks ago, just waiting to hear if the car is ready for collection this week, or next. We had our local electrician in for another job, and although he has been qualified to fit chargers, he is not competitive as a lot a car dealers include the charger as a sweetener to buy a car, so hecrarely fits one.

We are with Octopus for our energy and they fitted ours, I think it was around £800. It was fast and efficient

Energy supplier isn't the only way to go, in fact I would rather find an independent electrician who does them.
